Our very own Jalyssa Soto represented Keyport at the NJBSA 8th Grade Dialogue!
Part 3, of our climate grant unit plan-learning about food insecurity continues. Today, the planning & shopping began. Students had an eye opening experience when shopping for specific dietary needs, with multiple family members…on small budgets. Students picked a family to shop for,
from a pool of possibilities, and needed to ensure that their dietary needs and restrictions were considered. Students will use this information to have a larger appreciation for food and security, and show how we can help combat it with community resources. The goal is to have them turn key this information to our younger learners through related picture books and conversation.

Our kindergarteners had a fantastic time celebrating Read Across America! 📚
What a productive three hours 👍🏻Thanks to Dr. Savoia, Mrs. Harrigan, CJ, and our amazingly enthusiastic and convincing NJHS students we had a productive day today and collected a large amount of cereal boxes and monetary donations. Thank you to all who donated and thank you parents for allowing these phenomenal young people to shine and represent Keyport Schools so well. ❤️🖤❤️ Our event will be this Friday, so there is still time to donate!!
So much fun at the KCS Book Swap today! Grades PreK-5th swapped 104 books! Thanks for helping the environment by reusing books (Fewer trees cut, less waste in landfills, & energy saved on transportation) in a way that was exciting! 📚
