I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Ms. Tamme Manganelli, I serve as the 6–12 District Literacy Coach. In this role, I work collaboratively with middle and high school educators to support effective literacy instruction across all content areas.
My focus is on strengthening students’ reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills through research-based instructional practices. I partner with teachers through co-planning, modeling lessons, analyzing student work and data, and providing professional learning tailored to classroom and curriculum needs.
Literacy is a shared responsibility, and I value collaboration, reflection, and teacher expertise. My role is supportive and non-evaluative—I am here to serve as a resource, thought partner, and advocate for strong literacy instruction that meets the diverse needs of our students.
This is my thirty-third year in the Keyport Public School District. Prior to that, I attended Rowan University where I received my BA for Teacher of the Handicapped. I hold certificates to teach Special Education, Elementary Education K-8, Reading K-8, and The Wilson Reading Program. I also earned a Master’s Degree in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College in 2002. Additionally, I earned my Supervision Certification, from Rowan University, in 2018. Most recently, I was trained, over the course of eight days, to implement the Responsive Classroom philosophies our school district has adopted by completing both Elementary and Advanced Elementary Courses. I was most honored to be named Keyport's Teacher of the Year in 2004 and honored to be named a NJ Exemplary Educator in 2024. At school, I am a member of the Intervention and Referral Services Team, I am a dyslexia screener, and I sit on many committees including ScIP/DEAC, School Improvement, and Title I Stakeholders, and I am the advisor for the National Junior Honor Society. During my free time, I enjoy reading, golfing, traveling, and spending time with my friends and family.
Additionally, this year, I am continuing to take on the role of Climate Grant Supervisor. Our district was so fortunate to secure a grant extension in order to immerse our students in climate awareness education utilizing our local environment as a springboard for lessons, conversations, and real life experiences.
I look forward to working with our administrative team, parents, staff, and students to support meaningful learning experiences and continued growth for all learners in grades 6–12.
