Today, our class had a special moment. We released our butterflies into the world!
Over the past few weeks, we have been observing the incredible life cycle of the butterfly, from caterpillar to chrysalis to its final transformation 🦋.

🦋 Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future 🕯️
Our 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students have been deeply engaged in learning about the Holocaust during Social Studies. Through powerful stories and biography cards, they learned about the lives of children who were tragically taken too soon.
As part of The Butterfly Project, our students each painted a ceramic butterfly in honor of one of the 1.5 million children who perished in the Holocaust. 🎨 Each butterfly represents a life remembered — a symbol of hope, resilience, and a promise to never forget.
These butterflies will become part of a permanent memorial at Central School, and we will continue to add to this growing tribute until all 1.5 million butterflies are created and displayed around the world.
We are incredibly proud of our students for the empathy, thoughtfulness, and care they put into this meaningful work. 💛

🌟 Our 5th graders have been on a journey through the Garden State! 🌍✈️
They explored famous places in New Jersey like the historic Liberty State Park, the bustling boardwalks of Atlantic City, and the revolutionary grounds of Morristown! 🗺️🏛️🎡
They also got inspired by famous New Jersey natives — from musical legends like Whitney Houston and Frank Sinatra 🎤, to innovators like Thomas Edison 💡, and sports heroes like Derek Jeter ⚾!
We’re so proud of their curiosity and excitement as they connected with our state’s rich history and amazing talent. 📚✨
