Our first Friday Open 2 "Check it Out with the Lit Coach" session was a huge success! Students dropped into the Media Center to relax, browse the shelves, check out new titles, and chat about great reads while getting to know Ms. Manganelli. Thank you to everyone who joined us and brought such wonderful energy—we already can't wait for next week! A heartfelt thank you to the Union Beach Community Alliance and Active Minds for bringing an inspiring and powerful assembly to our students featuring Na Eun “Jiggy” Noon! Her message of resilience, empowerment, and overcoming obstacles reminded us all of the strength we have within ourselves to face challenges and persevere. There is nothing quite like watching students engage in high-level textual debate. Today, 9th graders teamed up with Ms. Manganelli, our Literacy Coach, to dive into small group work focused on analyzing how characters evolve and how story structure drives theme development.
