My name is Mr. Kyle Keelen and I am a mathematics and special education teacher here at Keyport High School.

I graduated from Kean University in 2010 with the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Mathematical Sciences and the University of Phoenix in 2015 with a Masters in Administration.  I am dual certified to teach Mathematics grades K-12 and Special Education grades K-12.

While at Kean University I played football and was the treasure of the Class of 2010.

I was born and raised in Keansburg and made the transition to Keyport in the Fall of 2009, making this my ninth year at Keyport High School.  So far I have taught ACT/SAT Prep, Algebra I, Algebra II, Algebra Enrichment, Financial Literacy, Geometry, HSPA/ASHA, Pre-Algebra, and Pre-Calculus.

I am also the Head Baseball Coach, Assistant Football Coach, Student Council Co-Adviser, and Class of 2026 Co-Adviser. (Please make sure to check each of the pages for updates on events!) Previously was the Class of 2013, 2017, 2018, and 2020 Advisor.

I would like my students to think about these quotes when learning in my class

"NO GUARANTEES -Like any investment, an investment in education offers no guarantees. However, the more time, effort, and money invested in education, the more likely a higher income. “~Unknown

“The difference between school and life? In school, you're taught a lesson and then given a test. In life, you're given a test that teaches you a lesson.” ~Unknown

“I can’t” is the acronym for “I Completely Admit I’m Not Trying.”
