The purpose of school-based counseling is to support the whole child in finding success in school.  Our role as the school counselors is to support the social/emotional aspects of the child so that they can achieve academically.  We do this through academic and career planning, helping students develop social and interpersonal skills, and offering support to students facing social and emotional challenges.
