Children's After School Partial Care Services at CPC

Children's After School Partial Care 

Circle of Friends is an afterschool group program forchildren ages 7-12 years old who have been identified by family, school orother community providers as experiencing serious difficulties at home, inschool, or in other community settings. The goal is to help these childrenovercome the problems that have interfered with their ability to functionappropriately and to avoid out- of-home placements.

 An interdisciplinary team led by a board certified childpsychiatrist, in collaboration with the child and his/her family, develops atreatment plan to address each child's specific needs. Utilizing a grouptherapy model, each child works on taking steps towards achievement of his/hergoals. Family collaboration in the treatment process is essential.

 This program is located on the campus of CPC's High PointSchools. There is no charge to families for this service. Children and theirfamilies participate -- up to 15 hours per week -- afterschool, typically forbetween 6-9 months.

 Services include: •Group, Family & Art Therapy

•Therapeutic Recreation

•Social Skills Training

•Anger Management

•Parenting Classes & Support

•Coping Skill Building

•Activity Therapy

•Psychiatric Evaluation & Medication Monitoring

•Limited Transportation is provided
