Jennifer Peirson

Ms. Jennifer Peirson

Director of School Counseling & Supervisor of Nursing

My name is Ms. Peirson and I this is my second year as a Keyport Red Raider. I am so excited about leading our counseling team in supporting the social-emotional, academic, and behavioral growth of our students. I am a Rutgers alum, having earned my B.A. in Journalism & Media Studies and Sociology and then my M.Ed. in School Counseling. I started my counseling career by filling a maternity leave position at a high school and then moved to middle school where I was a counselor for grades 5-8 for the 11 years. In 2018, I earned an Ed.S.in Educational Leadership from Seton Hall University. Working with students is the best part of my job and I am looking forward to getting to know the students, staff, and the community of Keyport! Please do not hesitate to reach out to me or your student's counselor with any questions or concerns.

Oxley

Mrs. Stacey Oxley

KHS Counselor (Last Names A-K)

My name is Mrs. Oxley and this will be my 18th year at Keyport High School as a school counselor. Fun fact, Mrs. Parson was actually one of my students! I graduated from East Brunswick HS and got my undergrad degree in elementary education from the University of Maryland. I went on to get my masters degree at night from Kean University, while teaching 6th grade during the day. I am excited to welcome all of the new students this year and catch up with the returning students! The four years in high school are full of such growth, maturity, and opportunity. Students come in as timid freshmen and leave here to embark on careers, trade school, military, or college. The possibilities are endless and I can not wait to see what they will all accomplish!

Parson

Mrs. Stephanie Parson

KHS Counselor (Last Names L-Z)

My name is Mrs. Parson and this is my fifth year as the School Counselor for KHS, however, I am certainly not new to our school and community. I was a student here from kindergarten all the way through to 12th grade. It is such an amazing feeling to be able to give back to the community that gave me so much! After graduating from KHS, I went off to Ramapo College of NJ where I played Field Hockey and received my Psychology degree. I then became an Academic Athletic Advisor at Irvington High School, where I found my passion to be a School Counselor. I received my M.A in School Counseling as well as becoming a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) from Kean University. My journey to find my dream career wasn't a straight line but it led me right where I am supposed to be! My goal as a School Counselor is to make sure all my students feel seen, heard and to know THEY MATTER!

My name is Heidi Martin, I am the Secretary to the Director of School Counseling. This is my 15th year with the school district and my first year working at the high school. I've spent the majority of my Keyport career in the Central school where I started as a Kindergarten Teacher Assistant for four years before transitioning to Preschool, where I spent 10 years there. I also helped start the Aftercare program at Central school, where I have gotten to know and mentor more students. I love getting to get to see the students I mentored in Central school grow into young adults.  I'm excited to get to know all the students.
