Child Development Preschool Information
Thank you for your interest in the Keyport High School Child Development Program "Little Raiders Preschool."
The Little Raiders Preschool is open to Keyport residents who have children three and four years old. This unique program is designed to introduce High School Students to gaining an understanding in how young children grow, develop and learn. Students will become familiar with the ages and stages of development as they are introduced to roles of teacher and caregiver in a Preschool Classroom.
High School Students create developmentally appropriate lessons and activities to teach preschool children in Social-Emotional, Cognitive, Language, Literacy, Math, Science, Social Studies, Art and Physical (gross & fine motor) Development.
The preschool environment is set up into learning centers for planned purposeful play experiences in : math, science, music, dramatic play, kitchen, reading, blocks, art, social studies and writing. The High School Students align the lessons to The New Jersey Department of Education: Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards and Preschool Curriculum Objectives.
