  • KPS Digital Literacy curriculum is a newly adopted creative and innovative, standards-based curriculum grounded to NJ Student Learning Standards (NJSLS), Guiding Principles of Future Ready Schools, and Partnership in 21st Century Learning (P21) is designed to develop students’ skills and strategies with digital citizenship, expertise with multimedia technology, processes for computational thinking and an introduction to computer programming, and personal financial responsibility enacted through New Jersey legislation. The newly crafted hands-on curriculum is part of the District’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) Department’s Mission of building 21st Century skills (4 C’s: critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity) while guiding students towards 21st Century career pathways. 

    Self-paced STEM and CS learning for kids age 8 & up | CoderZ

    This year, in grade 6, we will be utilizing the CoderZ platform to drive our coding instruction. CoderZ is developed by world-class STEM educators, combining best practices for educational outcomes and serious engagement. Social-emotional learning, science and engineering practices, critical life skills - CoderZ brings them all to the table in one easy and appealing interface. (https://gocoderz.com/learn-coding/courses/) Students will be immersed in mission based lessons where they can put their coding and robotics skills to work. Students will work at their own pace to complete missions in the CoderZ Adventure pack.
