Welcome! I am excited to spark students' interests with Math, Science, and Social Studies. We will start off the first half of the year focusing on Math and Science, and for the second half of the year, we will focus on Math and Social Studies.
In Math, we will be following the Common Core State Standards (5th Grade Common Core: Math ) and will be using the McGraw-Hill "My Math" textbook. In Science will be following the new Next Generation Science Standards (5th Grade NGSS) and will be using the HMH "Science Dimensions" textbook. I will be incorporating a lot of hands-on STEM activities and experiments in our learning. In Social Studies, we will be following the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (Social Studies Standards) and will be using the Harcourt "Social Studies: The United States" textbook.
I will update this website often to keep everyone updated on the subjects we are learning in class. I will also post homework here as well! I can't wait for a great 2018-19 school year!
