  • ________________________________________________________________________________________________________Keyport High School's Key Club has begun a new and powerful project. We are coordinating with the organization, Plan International to make a direct impact in developing countries. Plan International was founded over 70 years ago and is a nearly $800 million organization often ranked among the top 10 international development agencies by reputation, size and scope. They work side-by-side with communities in 50 developing countries to end the cycle of poverty for children, developing solutions to ensure  long-term sustainability. Key Club member, Shannon Costigan is the leader of this project and plans to raise money and send at least one of each of the following "Gifts of Hope"
to communities in need. Keyport High School homerooms have been assigned a designated "Gift of Hope" and as a school will work together to reach our goal.

  • Goat ($65): A nanny goat produces about 240 gallons of milk a year! With that kind of output, a family can start a small dairy business selling the extra milk and cheese at the local market. Click for Goat Video

  •  Birth Certificates ($25)Millions of births go unrecorded every year. In a sense, these children are invisible. Your gift will ensure that a child receives a birth certificate so that he or she can get access to health care, go to school, and be protected from exploitation. Click for Birth Certificate Video

  •  School Supplies ($30): Pencils, paper, books: These are the basics you need for school. But in the poorest of communities, these simple supplies are considered a luxury. Your gift will make sure that a young person like you has everything he or she needs to learn and succeed. Click for School Supplies Video

  •  Cow ($125): With a single cow, a family in need can have all the fresh milk and cheese they need, and still have extra to sell at the market! Click for Cow Video
